TECHNIQUE

The main purpose of a pre-shot routine is to achieve a consistency of approach to every shot. This will allow you to monitor, understand, and learn about how all the different parts of your game work. With this knowledge you will possess the tools and power to radically change and improve, becoming your own coach and analyst. By combining your technique, potting skills, and cue ball control all in one simple pre-shot routine, will enable you to clearly think through each and every shot.

SHOT SELECTION

Shot selection has to be one of the hardest subjects to teach. This is mainly due to the fact there are so many different ways to playing any one particular shot. Even some of the most experienced players in the world can choose to play the wrong shot. Nobody has the perfect shot selection as it can take years to find out which is the best way of tackling a certain lie of the ball. Shot selection could be compared to playing chess. If you can force your opponent into a mistake and then capitalise by making all the right moves, you will be difficult to beat.
