"No
one likes being close to the cushion".
Cueing
off the cushion is one of the most difficult disciplines in snooker
to master successfully. Only concentrated practise will improve
your accuracy and consistency.
Remember
to keep your bridge hand firm, your head perfectly still and the
cue as close to parallel with the table as possible.
Place the white ball tight under the cushion (as shown) and practise
potting the white in the four available pockets. Continue by rotating
the white onto the other cushions and completing the exercise
again.
Another
useful routine to practise, is to place the colours on their spots
and pot them whilst the white is tight against the cushion. Play
from both sides of the table to familiarise yourself with the
shots.
Pay
special attention to the blue, pink and black, as these shots
if completed successfully cushion can often make the difference
when compiling your breaks.
